Everyone LOVES the knowledge that is learned and the experience of paddling a Hawaiian Canoe! We begin with 30-minutes of instruction and equipment review, along with a history of the double-hull Hawaiian canoe. Riders will then hop into the canoe and learn for themselves the ancient art of open-ocean travel. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for tourists and locals alike to learn REAL Hawaiian history, geography and folklore and see the “other side” of Diamondhead, along with the majestic cliff-line of Koko Head Crater.
The HSA double-hull canoe fits 11 passengers, and will be lead by a professional instructor that is lifeguard certified. Riders will be paddling the canoe and taking in the beauty of Maunalua Bay for approximately 1.5 hours. Riders can paddle as much OR as little as they like, allowing all levels of fitness to enjoy the tour. Life jackets are available upon request.
Tours are held several days throughout the week; see our live interactive calendar for availability and are 2.5 hours in duration. Private charters are available; please book far enough ahead of time! The minimum age is 5 years old (unless you reserve a private charter for a group larger than 5 people). Participants under 18 years old can attend the tour, but a guardian must be present prior to the lesson to sign a waiver. We offer US Active Duty Military and Kama’aina discounts.
